They resemble several incidental koalas who were spectators during the jumping competition and Phoebe the Koala.
In the intro of every episode of 64 Zoo Lane, they are seen climbing the trees in sync with the song's tune. Unlike other koalas, this trio does not appear any episodes. The trio appears on the theme song heard in Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4 respectively during the verse "64, 64, 64 Zoo Lane" verse just before the "Some like it hot" verse where a purple chameleon appears.

- Given the fact that the background is pale purple hints that the background where the koalas appear is a daytime setting. In real life, koalas are nocturnal and are often active at night.
